Lesson 1 Week 1

This will be mainly introductions to the Lifeskills at Workplace Module and to one another. Hope you enjoyed at least knowing 3 new things about your classmate and the paper aeroplanes activity.

The new record holders - 17 boxes from RT1004M&N class!

Key takeaway: Lessons from the life of Stone. A professional footballer turned coach. One who did not gave up when his world caved in, and turned the negative things in life around for the better. We have only one life to live. Don't waste it by mopping over your calamities.

Live.

  1. I believed these activities helped me to understand the value of camaraderie and teamwork. I get to know the inner "secrets" of my friends when we play the "one correct thing and two false things" activity. We had to guess one of the three information that would be possibly correct. I did'nt know that my friend, Ahmad, was a monitor in his primary school days! I found a lot of information from my friends as a result of this activity. The making of a paper aeroplane and to make it fly as far as it could was the next activity. This activity challenged the creative minds of myself and another group member, Kathleen. The paper which my teacher gave was large and soft. This made it hard for us to make a paper aeroplane effectively. Despite the disadvantages, I made the paper aeroplane that my father used to teach me. The plane flew by 9 boxes when it was our turn to fly it. Unfortunately, the opposite team won the game as their paper aeroplane flew by 10 boxes. This was mainly due to their excellent design of the plane. The video that I watched about the life of Stone touches me. While he was playing football with his friends, one footballer intentionally tore his ligaments out of revenge and that instantly crashed Stone's career. This was a horrible, unhumanely thing to do. But what touched me the most was that he forgave the person who hurt him. I was proud of him as he did not look to the past and get on with life as usual.

  2. After watching the clip,i was moved by it.Stone forgive the player when he know he do it intentionally. He chose forgiven instead of revenge, which was not easy.People only know how to talk about forgiven but any truly bring themselves to take action toward it.People tend to hold a grudge and want to get even if others hurt itself. If people learn forgiven then maybe there won't be war anymore.Yet Stone really did it.Even after that incident that cause his football career to end,he didn't give up on himself, instead he found another path to continue with his life.He become coach and influence a lot of people. The path he chose not only benefit himself but also others around him.We can learn a lot from him.

  4. On behalf of Muzhafar RZN,
After watching the video,I was proud of Stone and I feel that he was a strong individual. He had a chance to follow his dreams, but his dreams was shattered by another incdividual who was also sharing the same dream. Although he no longer has that chance, he continues living by inspiring and coaching. It shows that he does not dwell on the past and keeps on living by making the best out of it. That is what makes him strong.

  5. Posting on behalf of some students from RM1004W who submitted great work:

    from Chee Beng,
"from the video clip, one sentence struck me was that true leadership need not be famous, its comes out from your heart. To me without heart, you will not be able to do your work successfully"

    from Nur Izwan,
"I realised that you cannot acheive accomplishment through nothing. Hard work pays off"

    from NurFitri,
"I've learnt to forgive people easily eventhough how hurt you are. Stop all those revenge, it brings nothing to you. Don't ever give up on life even though how hard it is."

    from Wei Bin,
"After watching the video clip, I realised every human have purpose in this world. It is important to have a skill or knowledge in order to survive in this world. Other than that, love is also important, it changes a person."

Great work guys! All of you have submitted your thoughts and I'm blessed.
