  1. a) It is very expensive to own a car. The car price is affordable. But the cost of road tax, petrol, parking and etc is much more higher.
b)Many people still own a car because they can afford for it. And also, some prefer to own a car due to the breakdown or jam of Singapore transportation.
    c) Have more buses during peak hours. And train to arrive every 2-3mins.

  2. Part A.) It is expensive to own a car in Singapore. Why is this so? This is because the government has implemented the COE scheme to ease the traffic condition on the road. Meaning that, it is a must to purchase the certificate in order to be entitled to purchase a car. Perhaps by paying the prices of the car, it is affordable. However, car maintenance, parking fees and the depreciation value of the COE have enlighten us that it is a difficult task to buy a car in Singapore.

Part B; There are many reasons which explain why many people willing to buy a car, despite its high cost. Firstly, it brings convenience. It can be time consuming to take public transportation . Not only that, it is impossible for us to carry our groceries and the daily products into the bus or train. This potentially irritate other commuters for bringing any inconvenience to them.
Part c: Singapore is a densely populated city and the public transport is bustled with people. Hence, to counteract such problem, government should deploy more buses or trains , for example, train should arrive every one minute during the peak period, so as to bring a better transportation system for the public .

    Part 1

    A) With that huge amount of true cost for owning a car, I feel that people like me will not be able to own a car as it is really expensive.

    B) There are a lot of reasons people still want to own a car. One of which is that they have always been so keen in owning a car. Perhaps it is their childhood dream to be able to drive a car or own one. The other reason is that they might need it for work as their careers requires a lot of time. Thus, walking towards a bus stop and waiting for a bus seems not so ideal.

    C) For that matter, there should be a lot of buses operating during peak hours to cater the commuters. As for trains, it should arrive every 2-3 minutes during peak hours so that more commuters get to the train.

  6. a)my personal comment is that people who wants to own a car most probably need to travel a lot. but there's not a need for people who does not really need it. public transport is much more cheaper.

b)reason why many people wants to own a car is for their own benefits which is to travel faster and easier

    c) they should come out with a policy where people who does not really need it will need to pay at a higher price of a car
